About Dr. Landau
Dr. Landau knows athletes, and knows what it takes to get back on the field as
quickly as possible. He was captain of the 2-time NCAA National Championship
Gymnastics Team while he was studying Human Biodynamcis at the University of
California at Berkeley, and named “Most Inspirational Gymnast” in 1997. He
graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1998, and was awarded the Neufeld Scholar Award,
given to the most outstanding academic performance by an athlete of any sport at
UC Berkeley.
During his medical school training at UNC Chapel Hill, he was also the “Tumbling
Specialist” doing flips the length of the court during half-time of the basketball
games. He graduated at the top of his class in 2002, being elected into the Alpha
Omega Alpha National Medical Honors Society.
Dr. Landau graduated with honors from the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency
Training Program, and completed a fellowship at the San Diego Arthroscopy &
Sports Medicine Fellowship, where he graduated “Most Outstanding Fellow.”

Dr. Josh Landau joined Murphy-Wainer Orthopedic Specialists as an orthopedic surgeon in 2009, where he continues his
tradition of excellence in the field of orthopedics and sports medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of
Orthopaedic Surgeons, and has also earned recognition as a subspecialist in Sports Medicine.
